When it comes to flooring selection whether for home use purpose or industrial purpose, one normally considers two main types of flooring. One is the wooden flooring and the second vinyl flooring. There are many other types of flooring like marble, granite and carpet etc. Carpets are normally used by luxury hotels and many homes too mainly to retain the warmth in winter. Maintaining and cleaning carpets is becoming increasingly difficult and besides they are not durable enough. Hence other flooring is increasingly being favored by all.
Vinyl flooring developed further by replacing linoleum with polyvinyl chloride where in the properties are similar to that of linoleum and it gives greater brightness, flexibility, durability and is less inflammable. The fact that Vinyl flooring is fire retardant and non allergenic in its characteristics, it is widely used in hospitals, labs and healthcare facilities.
Vinyl flooring comes in so many designs and design some very close games with wooden floors. They can be installed easily and some varieties come with self adhesive properties as well. Vinyl floors can be easily maintained by a wet mop and vacuum cleaners as well. They have a soft rubber feel and helps keep the coolness in the room.
Vinyl flooring is very cost-effective alternative in the floor, but not always the best option if ideal conditions are not met. Although you can put it directly on the concrete, there are times when the concrete will not allow it. That's what happens, you may have to use something different or thinking about installing sub-floor to alleviate this challenge.
